ABOUT THE V4.5.6 UPDATE ============================================================ The V4.5.6 update contains new features and fixes from all prior releases of V4.5. This document only lists the faults fixed in V4.5.6. For other fixes, please see the V4.5.5 readme.txt file. II. IMPORTANT TECHNICIAL INFORMATION ============================================================ Automation Server Requires MDAC Beginning with TeleMagic Enterprise version 4.5.6, Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is now required to be installed on computers running Windows NT that are used to run the Automation Server. It is not necessary to install it on computers running Windows 2000. MDAC is available from the Microsoft web site, or from the TeleMagic R&D web site at www.telemagicrnd.com in the TeleMagic Enterprise V4.5 folder of the Downloads section. ------------------------------ Use the Automation Server for Large Broadcasts TeleMagic Internet Mail (TIM) is not designed for large broadcast mailings. If you need to send in excess of 1000 messages, it is highly recommended that you queue those messages to the Automation Server. In V4.5.6 the Automation Server has been enhanced to improve performance when processing a very large number of items. ------------------------------ Reconfigure Faxmodems You must reconfigure your faxmodems after installing V4.5.6. ------------------------------ Sales Forecasting Graph Reports Graphs in Sales Forecasting are only supported if Office 2000 is installed and the MSGraph option is also selected and installed. III. FAULTS FIXED IN V4.5.6 SP2 ============================================================ Issue#: HF-00167 Module: Pending Activity List While still in edit mode on a record, if you opened the Pending Activity list and clicked the "To Contact" button, you were taken to the associated record. If you then moved off of that record, you were asked if you want to save changes to the current record. Any changes made to the original record were lost. Issue#: HF-00171 Module: Automation Server If an error occured while the Automation Server was sending e-mail, the Automation Server stopped processing. Issue#: HF-00173 Module: Auto Responder Invalid characters in an Auto Responder script resulted in an error during processing. Issue#: HF-00174 Module: E-mail Linked e-mail sent through the Automation Server was not synchronized, and did not show up in the e-mail rollup. Issue#: HF-00175 Module: Auto Responder When the Auto Responder was configured to create an activity based on the user ID in a specified field, activities were only being created for the first user ID. Issue#: HF-00178 Module: Rebuild Running an external rebuild with an invalid index resulted in "Error 13: Alias 'UniqNums' not found". IV. NEW FEATURES IN V4.5.6 SP1 ============================================================ A new variable, m.cAlternateID, has been added to TeleMagic Enterprise. This variable is used in Enterprise security expressions in conjunction with the new Alternate Logon feature in NetClient Browser Edition V1.5. (V4.5.6 SP1) ------------------------------ When sending a reply to an already linked e-mail message, the reply was not being shown in the e-mail rollup for the contact. The reply will now be linked to the same contact as the original message, and will appear in the contact's e-mail rollup. V. FAULTS FIXED IN V4.5.6 SP1 ============================================================ Issue#: HF-00098 Module: DSS After retrieving an e-mail packet via Dial-up Networking, closing the remote generated an error. Issue#: HF-00153 Module: Resources After deleting all resources, the list was still displaying resources. Issue#: HF-00154 Module: Spell Checker The Spell Checker Dictionary List did not refresh correctly. Issue#: HF-00155 Module: Automation Server E-mails or faxes sent through the Automation Server were stamping only the first record's notepad. Issue#: HF-00157 Module: Spell Checker When first opened, the Spell Checker Dictionary select list did not have focus. Issue#: HF-00160 Module: Contact Manager If ChildSum() and ChildCount() functions were being used, and a user edited a child record, all child records associated with the same parent were locked as well. Other users were then unable to edit child records of the same parent. The program will no longer attempt to try and lock the parent when going into edit mode on a child record - instead it will attempt to lock the parent record when the calculations take place, and only if the Database Preference option "Calculate upper level on save" is marked. Issue#: HF-00164 Module: E-mail When trying to link a message to the current contact, if a filter was selected for the search, the message "no record found" ocurred. VI. NEW FEATURES IN V4.5.6 ============================================================ Automation Server Expanding filtered records has been enhanced for speed. ------------------------------ Reports Support has been added for the Dymo LabelWriter printer. For more information on configuring the Dymo LabelWriter for use with TeleMagic, see the online help. ------------------------------ Faxing The fax driver has been updated, and the fax printer driver name has been changed to maintain compatibility with previous versions. After upgrading to V4.5.6, you will notice a new printer driver called "TeleMagic Fax 35". This version includes a completely new set of files for the faxing engine. Please do not confuse this with version 3.5 of TeleMagic, as the 35 here represents version 3.5 of the fax driver. We have changed the name so that your previous version of TeleMagic can coexist with V4.5.6. FAULTS FIXED IN VERSION 4.5.6 ============================================================ Issue#: HF-00082 Module: Activity Manager The completed time of an activity was being changed from p.m. to a.m. For example, if an activity was completed at 2:00 p.m., the next time the activity was edited the completed time was changed to 2:00 a.m. Issue#: HF-00101 Module: Activity Manager If a date field was selected as a fax stamp key field, an error was generated when linking contacts to activites or Message Taker messages. Issue#: HF-00080 Module: Auto Responder The Downtime entered in System Settings was the time during which Auto Responder processing would take place. This method of specifying processing time was the opposite of the Downtime feature found in other TeleMagic modules such as the Automation Server, where the time entered is the time during which the module is to be offline. The Auto Responder Downtime feature has been changed to function like these other modules. Issue#: HF-00084 Module: Auto Responder When processing, the Auto Responder stopped queuing to the Automation Server after 490 records, no matter how many were in the filter. Issue#: HF-00104 Module: Automation Server When a port was automatically removed by the Automation Server, 'Error 9: data type mismatch' occurred. Issue#: HF-00138 Module: Automation Server If you sent a broadcast e-mail to the Automation Server using the tagged records filter, and there were no tagged records in the database, an error occurred when expanding the filter. Issue#: HF-00128 Module: Branch Scripting Printing a Branch Scripting report with text included caused an error. Issue#: HF-00152 Module: Database A 'C0000005' error sometimes occurred when selecting a database. The Standard List class has been rewritten to correct this. Issue#: HF-00097 Module: DSS When a script was used to both retrieve and process an inbox packet, the inbox packet was not being processed. Issue#: HF-00090 Module: E-mail When an e-mail was sent using TIM, the roll-up did not respect the date format set in TeleMagic. Issue#: HF-00091 Module: E-mail TIM did not support A4 paper size. In General Preferences a check box has been added for 'When printing, use A4 paper size'. Issue#: HF-00103 Module: E-mail If a message could not be delivered due to problems with a particular ISP, in some cases TeleMagic Internet Mail was not returning a message informing the user that the mail was undeliverable. Issue#: HF-00105 Module: E-mail On the e-mail Sending window, the Cancel button was disabled. It was necessary to use the 'X' to close the window. Issue#: HF-00108 Module: E-mail If an e-mail with an attachment was sent internally to a TeleMagic user ID, and the user ID was entered manually in the To: field, an 'unable to send' error occurred. Issue#: HF-00114 Module: E-mail If more than one incoming mail message was received and 'Automatically link incoming mail' was selected in Preferences, only the first message was linked. Issue#: HF-00121 Module: E-mail When attempting to link a message, the Link dialog box opened with the current database selected, but not the current index. Issue#: HF-00147 Module: E-mail Changes made to messages after they were placed on hold were not saved or sent. The Save and Save to Folder options did not save changes to existing messages. Issue#: HF-00110 Module: Message Taker Opening the Link dialog box in the Message Taker disabled the toolbars, but when the dialog box was closed, the toolbars were not re-enabled. Issue#: HF-00081 Module: Rebuild If the CONTACTS.DBC files were opened by another program such as Auto Responder or Application Server, the Rebuild program generated an error if Calculated Fields was selected.
